Internal medicine is the specialist branch of medicine, which deals with the diagnosis and proper treatment of adult internal organs. Specialists who choose the field of internal medicine are known as “internists.”
Eligibility Criteria:
To become an expert in internal medicine field of medicine, a person has to complete at least three year schooling and postgraduate training dedicated to learn the knick-knacks of internal medicine which includes various treatments dealing with treatment to prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases that affect adults.

In the United States, there are mainly two non-profit organizations responsible for certification of people practicing internal medicine and subspecialties, the American Board of Internal Medicine, and the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine.
