Essentials requirements for hospital providing obstetric care

A) Availability of a certified practitioner who is expert to manage an appropriate anesthetic when needed. For many women patient, local anesthesia (spinal or combined spinal epidural and epidural) will be the most suitable anesthetic.

B) Availability of a licensed doctor who handles any obstetrics jobs in any obstetric emergency.

C) Availability of surgical and anesthesia employees to authorize the start of a cesarean delivery within half an hour of the judgment to carry out the process or expert practitioners who handles general surgery jobs sensitively.

D) Availability of appropriate services and staff together with nursing personnel, obstetric anesthesia and a physician in cases of VBAC who are competent of monitoring labor and performing cesarean delivery, instantaneously during active labor to execute emergency cesarean delivery.

E) Appointment of an experienced anesthesiologist to be accountable for all anesthetics process. The management of general or regional anesthesia needs both technical skills and medical conclusion. Thus, a doctor with proper rights in anesthesiology should be readily available.
